Nikhil Kanetkar (born May 13, 1979) is a male Maharashtrian badminton player from Pune India.[1]

Kanetkar played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's singles, defeating Sergio Llopis of Spain in the first round. In the round of 16, Kanetkar was defeated by Peter Gade of Denmark.[1]

Kanetkar became engaged to another elite-level badminton player, Shruti Kurien, on November 17, 2005.[2] They were married on Aug 27, 2006.[3] He would write a column in Marathi newspaper Sakal from Athens during the olympics. Currently he is writing 'Doha Diary' from Doha on the days happenings in the Asian Games in the same newspaper.
